What Will Be, May Not Be

I have heard people say many times that “what will be will be”. In a way what they are saying is, if they don’t make any effort in certain areas of their lives, such things they are hoping for are still achievable. It is sad to see even some believers adopting this notions. The sovereignty of God is erroneously being misinterpreted.

Truly God has a will. And as a sovereign God, His perfect will are supreme; but if people don’t cooperate with Him to accomplish those WILL, it may not come to pass in their lives but may come to pass in the life of someone who is ready.

For example:

The WILL of God is to see everybody go to heaven. In other to make this happen, He sent Jesus to die as a Sacrifice for the propitiation of the sins of the WHOLE WORLD. But it takes BELIEVING in Jesus to make the WILL of God come to pass in the life of anyone. Therefore whoever is saying ”what will be will be”, and REFUSED to believe in Jesus as their Lord and Saviour will definitely go to hell. Even though God doesn’t want anyone to PERISH.’

The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent. 2 Peter 3:9(NLT)

Also, when God created our first parents-Adam and Eve, His sovereign Will for them and their descendants was for them to live perpetually in obedience to Him and to eschew sins and evil. But because they failed to cooperate with God’s demands and His Will for them, they gave in to Satan’s deceptions, consequently led to the sinful world we are all living today. Therefore, they delayed the Will of God that was meant for their generation, which was later fulfilled in Jesus Christ in another generation. But now, whoever believe in  Jesus will enjoy the goodness and abundance of life that Adam and Eve lost.

Therefore I submit to you that God’s Will can be delayed by men due to disobedience and unbelief until God finds a man or woman that is ready to submit to Him.

Scripture:

God looks down from heaven on the entire human race; he looks to see if anyone is truly wise, if anyone seeks God. Psalm 53:2 (NLT)

YOU NEED TO COOPERATE WITH THE PROPHECY OF THE SCRIPTURES FOR YOU TO EXPERIENCE THE FULFILMENT

For example:

Jesus predicted what will befall Peter in the future:

Read this:

“Truly, truly, I say to you, when you were younger,
you used to gird yourself and walk wherever you wished; but when you grow old, you will stretch out your hands and someone else will gird you,
and bring you where you do not wish to go.” (John 21:18 NAS)

How did it happen?

The king of the day called ‘Herod’ had killed James. (Acts 12:2)

He put Peter in prison with the hope of killing him the following day.

Peter resigned to fate and went to sleep in the prison (Act 12:6)   (meaning, ‘what will be will be)

The Church took action:

The Church offered prayers for him without ceasing for his release (Act 12:5)

The scriptures below was the fulfilment of our Lord prophecy:

Peter was rescued by an angel who forced and hasten him to leave the prison.

Read this:

‘And behold, an angel of the Lord suddenly appeared and a light shone in the cell;
and he struck Peter’s side and woke him up, saying, “Get up quickly.”
And his chains fell off his hands.
And the angel said to him, “Gird yourself and put on your sandals.”
And he did so. And he said to him,
“Wrap your cloak around you and follow me.
“And he went out and continued to follow,
and he did not know that what was being done by the angel was real,
but thought he was seeing a vision.(Act 12:7-9 NAS)

The bottom line is, Peter would have been a dead man like James if not for the prayers offered by the church. It was the prayer of the saints that brought to fulfilment the prophecy of our Lord Jesus Christ.

You’ve got to believe in Jesus for you to be saved, you’ve got to believe in God for you to see His promises happening in your life. Otherwise what will be may not be.

I hope you are being blessed with this teaching.

Stay focused ! Stay blessed !!

Shalom
