Our generation is fast becoming silent on what we ought to be loud about. Sometimes traditions and cultures has been elevated above the instructions of the scriptures. Evil doers continue to thrive in their acts because no one is bold enough to speak against it. Everybody is now afraid to talk. And whenever anyone dare to talk, people will shout him down to mind his own business or put a label on his as a rebellion
Ironically through the ages in the scriptures, God commissioned people to cry and speak out against evil malpractices and unrighteousness. Because when people remain silent, evil doers will have no restraint. Our society even in a secular world is becoming trapped in the plaque of silence. People don’t want to talk or get involve to fight for injustice and discrimination so as to avoid reprisal attack or to be a witness in law court. The story is the same in the religious circle where people avoid being labelled as judgemental.
One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision: “Do not be afraid; keep on speaking, do not be silent. Acts 18:9(NIV)
Ironically also, people forget (or they don’t know) that one of the things that triggered church reformation by Martin Luther (31/10/1517) and few others, was because God was being misrepresented by the Church leaders (Roman Catholic) as wicked, and only after people’s money.
In fact people gave financial offerings for their salvation and to push the souls of their dead family member from purgatory to heaven . What a deceit!
But Martin Luther refused to be silent and somehow got the courage to confront the power that be. ” He touched the anointed ones,” It is a direct opposite of what we have today as, “touch not the anointed ones”. Psalm 105:15
Imagined if he had kept silent, do you think we would be having the diversity of church denominations we have today ? Think about that for a second.
Ephesians 5:11. Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them.
