Christian’s entrepreneurial experience began in 1995, when he founded a self-
financed, leading youth culture publication, which he later sold to Alloy Media
(NASDAQ: ALOY) in 2001. He then served as President of its publishing unit and
EVP of Marketing for its online merchandising businesses. Christian went on to
found Iconoclast Productions, an arts production, publishing and e-commerce
business, and a leading distributor of limited edition art related products. In 2004,
he conceived, produced, edited and curated Beautiful Losers, an internationally
celebrated, record-breaking museum exhibition, book, and documentary film.
Beautiful Losers toured museums worldwide through 2009 and featured a wide
range of visual artists and filmmakers including Shepard Fairey, KAWS, Spike Jonze,
Barry McGee, Harmony Korine, Ryan McGinley, Larry Clark, Os Gemeos, Raymond
Pettibon, Mike Mills, Ed Templeton, and Ryan McGinness, among others. In 2008,
Christian founded Country Club and built it into an internationally recognized art
program lauded by critics, curators, patrons, and museum personnel worldwide.
Via Country Club, he produced renowned projects with a roster of internationally
recognized artists including Fairey, McGinness, Korine, EV Day, and Jonah Freeman
and Justin Lowe’s famed Bright White Underground. Articles on Christian and his
businesses have been published in the New York Times, Vanity Fair, Los Angeles
Times, Huffington Post, Forbes, Sports Illustrated, Miami Herald, Artforum, Art In
America, Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, and the New York Times’ T Magazine
as well as leading publications and national newspapers throughout Europe, Japan,
Australia, and Brazil. Christian has consulted and lectured on culture, the arts, and
media throughout the United States, Europe, and South America. He received his
BA in History from Trinity College.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
