Living A Triumphant Christian Life (Part 2)

There was a tale of a lion that was raised among the sheep from the cradle without any cognisance of him recognising that he was a lion. He bleats like a sheep, he’d eat grass like a sheep.  One day they were drifting at the border of a great jungle when a mighty lion lets out a great roar and bounded out of the woods and right into the middle of the flock.  All the sheep scattered and ran away. As the jungle lion watched and saw this other lion among the sheep, then, he gave a chase.  He grabbed him up and took hold of him.  Here we have this lion cringing in front of the king of the jungle.  And the jungle lion said to him, “What are you doing here?”

And the other lion said, “Have mercy on me.  Don’t eat me.  Have mercy on me.”  But the king of the jungle dragged him off saying “Come along with me.”  And he brought him to a lake and he said, “Look.”  So, the lion who thought he was a sheep looked and for the first time he caught his reflection.  He understood his own real image.  Then he looked at the jungle lion, and he looked at the water again, and he let out a mighty roar. From that day henceforth, he stopped to regard himself as a sheep. His paradigm changed!

29 . But he answered his father, ‘Look! All these years I’ve been slaving for you and never disobeyed your orders. Yet you never gave me even a young goat so I could celebrate with my friends. 30 “But when this son of yours who has squandered your property with prostitutes comes home, you kill the fattened calf for him!’ 31 “My son,’ the father said, ‘you are always with me, and everything I have is yours. 32 But we had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’” Luke 15:29-31 (NIV)

It is not enough to be born into the family of God.  You must know your right….. Your right of VICTORY. In the school of triumphant living, knowledge is vitalYou cannot appropriate what you don’t have the knowledge of. The above scripture is from the popular story of the prodigal son. The elder brother could be seen jealous of his younger brother who moved back home after unscrupulous living away from family; having collected up his birthright previously. The older brother was resentful and envious of the way his brother was kindly cared for. Nevertheless, his father called him to order and warned him not to lose focus. He enjoined him not to FORGET that his birthright is intact and has never been tampered with. Consciousness of your birthright will save you from  envy and jealousy. Knowing full well that whatever the other believers have possession of, you have the right to it likewise.

EVERY BELIEVER START OFF ON THE SAME LEVEL AT THE POINT OF SALVATION BUT THEIR EXPERIENCES DIFFER BY THE LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE OF GOD

Still on knowledge. It is exclusively only in God that believer starts off or confront the battles of life as a conqueror even before getting into it. Your victory is ordained and declared long before your trial and difficulty. Unlike in sporting events, such as Boxing, Weightlifting, Marathon, etc., no matter how good you were in the past, your next contest requires an optimal level of performance. Winning or losing all depend on what happen on the day. Whereas, in Christ, you are born to win and never to lose. Your triumph is sure and rubber-stamped. The knowledge of this, should give you confidence.

DAVID’S TRIUMPH OVER GOLIATH

David is typical to this analogy. It amazes me how this young man had a verbal face-off with Goliath by telling him what he would do with his head. David doesn’t have a sword, but he knew Goliath’s sword will be used to cut off his head in the end. This young man knew he was born to win in God. He recognised God was on his side therefore he cannot lose. Knowledge of his right to victory gave him confidence and assurance.

So David triumphed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone; without a sword in his hand he struck down the Philistine and killed him.
David ran and stood over him. He took hold of the Philistine’s sword and drew it from the sheath. After he killed him, he cut off his head with the sword. When the Philistines saw that their hero was dead, they turned and ran. 1 Samuel 17:50-51(NIV)

  1. So true! “EVERY BELIEVER START OFF ON THE SAME LEVEL AT THE POINT OF SALVATION ” But when we begin to TRUST in Jesus, depend on Him, rely on Him, cling to Him and obey Him, that is when our faith grows. Great share, Richard!
