Phil Robertson, known by many as “The Duck Commander,” recently released a book titled The Theft of America’s Soul: Blowing the Lid Off the Lies That Are Destroying Our Country. While the book, which has a February 5th release date, is anticipated by many, Publishers Weekly took issue with many of its central aspects.
An article from CBN reports that the vocal 72-year-old didn’t hesitate when responding to the critique that “reading it feels like being upbraided by a passionate preacher.”
“The Publishers Weekly review is exactly what I hoped for. I decided from the very beginning that I would tell it like it is because I have not—and will not—be ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. God’s truth is always right, and I’m very proud that this notable publication has accused me of preaching it,” Robertson stated in a press release.
“And preach I will—more of it, and louder. That’s exactly why I wrote The Theft of America’s Soul to begin with. It is one long sermon from my heart to the soul of America,” he added.
The Theft of America’s Soul is set to be released on February 5th, 2019. Those interested in a preview are welcome to download the first chapter here.
Robertson is best known for his time on the former A&E series “Duck Dynasty.” Joined by various other members of the duck-calling Robertson clan, the Louisiana-based series was a massive hit. Although the show aired its final episode over a year ago, the series is still in syndication.
Robertson now hosts his own web series called “In the Woods with Phil,” which is available for viewing on the BlazeTV website. Past clips can be found on the series Facebook page.
An involved church member, Robertson serves as an elder at the White’s Ferry Road Church of Christ in West Monroe, La.
