For a start, I think it will interest us to know that number six is the number that represent man. Man was created on the sixth day and was commanded by God to work for six days and rest on the seventh (Genesis 1:31). Hence informed my curiosity to look for six common factors to every single person on this planet. Trusting that every reader would be able to relate to it and serve as a source of encouragement to them. Please note that when I say MAN, I mean MANKIND.
This calls for wisdom: Let the one who has insight calculate the beast’s number, for it is man’s number, and his number is 666. Revelation 13:18 (NET)
6 THINGS COMMON TO MAN
If you are reading this, obviously it’s because you have been given a life to live. Everyone that is alive now and those that have died, enjoyed the gift of life. Nobody preempts his or her birth. The giver of life is God. It is a gift of God, we’ve all enjoyed. It is a one time experience!
Counsel: We all have a great and one opportunity to live for God, fulfil destiny, advance His Kingdom, and make a positive impact in the life of others. So therefore, I’m encouraging you to cherish it and spend it wisely. However, the eternal life beyond this physical world is available for those who died in CHRIST. My question for you is, ”What do you want to be remembered for?” Or better still, ”What do you think you will be remembered for?” Think of this everyday and LIVE FOR IT !!
“I am thankful to God everyday for the Gift of Life because even if I were the richest in the world, I still wouldn’t afford to buy Life.”
― Gugu Mona
Everyone’s life experiences is not a bed of roses. We all have had it rough at one time or the other. It could be such a time when we experience disappointment, lack, sicknesses, etc….. Nobody is exempted from trials. If Jesus could experience it, we all will! Personally, I have had a fair share of it….and my life journey is still ongoing.
Counsel: No great men and women ever lived went through life without trials. Some overcame, while some got swallowed by it. Whether we all like it or not, our faith, trust, commitment, loyalty to man and God would be tried at one point or the other. Trials are common challenges we shall all face, and I’m yet to see someone without one.
I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 (NLT)
The tendencies to do evil or good, to cheat, lie, disloyal, immoral, etc. are embedded in the Adamic nature we all inherited. The world we live is between good and evil, light and darkness, angels and demons and God and Satan. The conflict is between all those and we are all in the middle.
Counsel: Being on the side of God helps us to sail through the opposite without being overcome by them. The Spirit of God in a believer helps to warn and instruct on what to do or not to do. Failure to obey the instructions, by giving in to lust and greed, make one fall into temptation.
The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. 1 Corinthians10:13a (NLT)
“Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Matthew 26:41(NIV)
I am yet to see someone who has never made a mistake. We’ve all made mistakes in speech and decisions. We all will fail at some point in our life. It is a common phenomenon.
Counsel: Failure should be a learning curve so we can do better next time.. And if you have never failed, it may mean because you have never tried anything. So whenever you experience failure, never think it’s peculiar to you. That is why I want you to know that failure is an event, not a person.
“Jeremiah, say to the people, ‘This is what the LORD says: “‘When people fall down, don’t they get up again? When they discover they’re on the wrong road, don’t they turn back?” Jeremiah 8:4 (NLT)
“Failure is not the opposite of success, it’s part of success.”
The definition of success is subjective to an individual. While many think of success as possessions of private jets, palatial mansions and fancy cars. Although those are good and desirable, but for me success is a completion of a task, achievement of a goal. The question is, is there anyone who has never completed a task in their life?
Counsel: There must have been some sort of fulfillment of a desire that once gave you, excitement, happiness, joy, satisfaction and fulfillment. Whatever that might be, that makes you a success in that area. Also for me, anyone living his or her life for Christ is a successful person; and I believe God sees it that way….material wealth has no treasury value in heaven.
“Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal”. Matthew 6:19-20 (NLT)
Death for everyone of us is inevitable. Death is what most of us don’t like to talk or think about…..but the fact is, we shall all die one day, except for those that would witness the second coming of our Lord Jesus, who would be rapture instead. If that is the case, have you ever thought of where you will spend your eternity?
Counsel: There are only two destinations after death: ‘ HEAVEN and HELL‘. Each one of us shall end up in either of them. However, acceptance of Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour and your continued relationship with God guaranteed your escape from HELL.
And just as each person is destined to die once and after that comes judgment, Hebrews 9:27 (NLT)
